Are you "insanely passionate" about real estate?

Here at duPont REGISTRY, we provide a venue for luxury professionals to sell and market their goods and services to the affluent.

Of course, we have other services, but that’s my focus. For example, if you are a luxury agent, we can provide you with a platform (note the word platform) for your services.

Well, because it’s still unclear to so many people that I talk to about social media and the ROI and how it can help your business.

Consider Gary Vaynerchuk. If you don’t know who he is, well take a look at Crush It! – It’s a quick read, and if you are at all curious as to how a ‘business‘ can become über-profitable through the use of these tools, this is a stellar example.

To this you ask, why are you trying to convince me about social media for luxury media? I’m not. You have to explore it yourself. It is the only way.

Social media is a new way of marketing and communicating

Here’s an excerpt about analytics in Gary Vee’s book about building your online brand:

I use analytics very rarely and I urge you not to rely too much on them either, especially if you’ve got good business instincts. A lot of times the stats and percentages related to my business just don’t support what my instinct says is true, and I’ll trust my instincts over numbers every time. What if your analytics tell you that you’ve only had seven views on Break.com in two months? Are you going to stop posting to that platform? The data are telling you that you should probably drop it, but what you don’t know is that one of those seven viewers is a producer for the Today Show. There’s no reason to think that can’t happen… As hard as you’re going to push yourself, don’t plan on seeing results right away… I’d say that this leads us to th number one issue that trips up a lot of otherwise savvy entrepreneurs trying to build their brand online.

The point Gary Vee is trying to make is one that any good luxury real estate agent is: Be insanely passionate.

Insert luxury buyer with producer for the Today Show in the above quote

The quote above is appropriate in luxury real estate also for this reason. There aren’t an abundance of luxury buyers. It only takes one.

Yes, there is a time to quit tactics that aren’t working, but selling and marketing a luxury property is a process.
